Ron's Ribs opened from what was formerly Bea Bea's Lawnside BarBQ, creating a legacy of barbecue at 1627 South Street for over 60 years. Ron's Ribs has recently expanded to another location at 16th and Cecil B. Moore, with over 42 seats and live jazz on the weekends.

Ron Washington continues to participate with SSWBA (he is the former president of the organization) to help organize and implement redevelopment on South Street.
