The Jubilee Village
Association is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to the creation of
a community of shared values that embrace the role of the arts, culture,
religion, education, housing, and entrepreneurship in community development.
Members of the organization are leaders of institutions and businesses
operating in the area. The purpose of the Village is to work with existing
community development organizations and initiatives to coordinate, plan,
and promote projects that advance the revitalization of the community
as a business and entertainment center, as well as which preserve and
foster its rich cultural history. Current projects include:
Conducting an inventory and space use analysis for vacant lots
and properties in the area between South and Fitzwater in cooperation
with Agoos/Lovera Architects and Bovis/Lend Lease, who are providing
in-kind services.
Planning the establishment of a neighborhood clean-up and maintenance
program that will employ local youth.
Planning the establishment of the Jubilee Village Website, the
production of T-shirts, and banners as promotional tools
Planning summer arts, music, and food festivals and exploring
support for street festivals.
